- node.js
- a runtime environment and a library for applications - MongoDB
- A cross-platform document oriented database - nTweetStreamer
- program used to gather the geo-tagged tweets - MySQL
- open source relational database management system - Python
- A programming language used to put the MongoDB data into a usable
format - ArcMap
- Mapping program used to create the maps in this
project
- Add a stream in the Location format and set it’s coordinates in the Northeast
and Southwest corners. - Filter out the proper data in nTweetStreamer and then export it to any location of your
choosing - Start up ArcMap and then add the exported data to the map using the add data
button - Then calibrate the data by it’s x and y axis to a specific basemap
- From here you can create the different maps used in a project like
this
For the “#CallMeCam” map simply create a definition query in the properties of the
map which will filter the points based on time.
For the hashtag count, simply input a word filter in the tweet streamer to find,
count, and record all the unique hashtags
For a Convex hull take and use the search bar to find the program and then enter the
points and which file to save the output to.
For the tracts map and highway map take and search join and choose the spatial join
option.
Then input the polygon which the points must fit in and the points that will be
filtered.
